Yoni eggs are smooth, egg-shaped crystals or stones that are inserted into the vagina to improve pelvic health and sexual wellness (know more about yoni eggs).
There are several methods to clean your Yoni egg:
- Water + soap: This is the simplest method and is also the one I recommend. Rinse the Yoni egg with warm water and clean it with mild soap, rinse the egg and string well and then wipe it with a clean cloth. Don’t forget to clean the hole in your egg if you are using a pierced egg! You can use a small brush (like the one used to go between the teeth)
- The essential oil method: add a few drops of lavender or tea tree oil to warm water and use this solution to clean the egg, then rinse with warm water and wipe with a clean cloth.
- Lavender essential oil is antibacterial and antifungal.
- Tea tree essential oil is broad-spectrum antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal.
It is important to clean your egg before and after each insertion and to store it in a clean, dry place to avoid the risk of infection.
For better hygiene, don’t hesitate to change your cord. You can replace it with unwaxed dental floss that you can easily find in pharmacies.
