There are several factors to consider when choosing the size of your yoni egg, here are some tips to help you:
- Consider your goals: If you want to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, a small or medium egg may be more suitable for strengthening exercises. But be careful with a small egg as your perineum needs to be toned! It is important to know that the smaller the egg, the more difficult it is to practice because our perineum will have more difficulties to maintain it.
- Consider your experience: If you are a beginner, it is advisable to start with a medium or large egg which are easier to hold. For example, you can start with a large egg and after a few weeks of practice and strengthening your perineum you can use your medium egg.
- Consider your health: If you have health problems such as uterine fibroids or cysts, it is important to consult a health professional before choosing an egg size.
- Consider your comfort: It is important to choose an egg size that you feel comfortable with and that does not cause pain or discomfort.
Test to see if your perineum is toned
A perineum is said to be “toned” if it is responsive to contractions. To find out if your perineum is functioning properly, insert a finger into your vagina and contract. The more you feel the contraction on your finger, the better your perineum is. The less you feel, the more distended it is. If this is not serious, it is better to react!
You should know that after your delivery it is normal to have a distended perineum. Always wait for the agreement of your midwife and at least 30 days after the birth to start your perineum rehabilitation.
To practice good perineal rehabilitation you can do Kegel exercises. These exercises help to strengthen the pelvic floor.
